Stock Picks For Tuesday: Motorola And Sprint Nextel

Motorola (MOT) is still in its sideways range and could make an upside move soon. Resistance stays at $9.20, which is the high of this range. Stop loss for long positions may be placed at $7.72. A close below this level would impart weakness in the stock. Keep a very close eye on MOT and be ready for the stock to make its move very soon.

Sprint Nextel (S) looks like it wants to make a trend reversal as the stock closed up $.40 on Monday after an analyst report declared Sprint’s turnaround under way and upgraded its shares to outperform. The analyst believes that the worst is behind Sprint Nextel as they will likely break even in retail subscriber growth in this quarter. The stock has closed positive the past two days, even after it tried to break down on Friday. Resistance is now $3.62, which was today’s high. If the stock can break through highs, expect to see another strong upside move. S will move quickly, so watch the stock closely on Tuesday.
