- Mosaic (MOS) reported fiscal first quarter results of 23 cents, down from $2.65 a year ago and off estimates of 35 cents; on revenues of $1.46 billion, down from $4.32 billion in prior year, and below estimates of $1.52 billion
- Pepsi Bottling (PBG) reported fiscal third quarter results of $1.06 ex-items, one cent above estimates as revenue of $3.63 billion missed estimates of $3.73 billion
- Emerson Electric (EMR) announced plans to purchase Avocent (AVCT) for $1.2 billion, or $25 per share
