UK Consumer Confidence Rises In June - Nationwide

(RTTNews) - An index measuring consumer confidence in the United Kingdom was up four points in June to post a score of 58, the Nationwide Building Society said on Wednesday - higher than expected.

Analysts had been predicting a score of 55 following the May reading, which had been revised up from 53 to 54.

The outlook index climbed to 86 in June from 78 in May. The percentage of people who believe economic conditions will improve in the next six months climbed to 33 percent, up from 28 percent. Conversely, only 23 percent expect conditions to worsen in six months.
