Asia-Pacific fixed income markets are mixed and equities closed higher with yields on Australian 10-year bonds up 0.9 bps to 4.52% and Japanese 10-year government bonds down 0.5 bps to 1.46%.

Sydney’s S&P ASX 200 closed up 1.00 points to 3776.7.

The Japanese Nikkei closed up 152.32 points to 8907.58 and the Hang Seng up 222.02 points to 15805.01.

Yields on three-year Australian bonds were down 1.0 bps to 4.04 and the Australian 90-day September 09 contract was down 4.0 ticks to 97.20.

The Euroyen September 09 contract was up 1.0 tick to 99.49.

The Australian dollar was down 0.04 cents to 0.7202 against the USD and up 0.21 cents to 0.8720 against the Canadian dollar.

Against the yen, the U.S. dollar was up 0.25 points to 99.53 and the Canadian dollar was down 0.07 points to 82.18.

The euro was down 0.94 cents to 1.3092 USD.
