Asia-Pacific Market Recap: Fixed Income Mixed, Equities Close Lower
(CEP News) - Asia-Pacific fixed income markets are mixed and equities closed lower with yields on Australian 10-year bonds down 5.5 bps to 4.17% and Japanese 10-year government bonds up 1.2 bps to 1.28%.
Sydney’s S&P ASX 200 closed down 46.50 points to 3402.4.
The Japanese Nikkei closed down 141.27 points to 7416.38 and the Hang Seng down 311.90 points to 12711.46.
Yields on three-year Australian bonds were flat at 3.54 and the Australian 90-day September 09 contract was down 2.0 ticks to 97.40.
The Euroyen September 09 contract was down 4.5 ticks to 99.50.
The Australian dollar was down 0.77 cents to 0.6361 against the USD and down 0.69 cents to 0.8029 against the Canadian dollar.
Against the yen, the U.S. dollar was down 0.10 points to 94.10 and the Canadian dollar was down 0.32 points to 74.54.
The euro was down 1.00 cents to 1.2571 USD.
