Green Hunter Energy (GRH) has been approved by the EPA to sell their biodiesel to the on-road market. Currently the main markets for their biodiesel has been the marine market and for export.
Green Hunter’s biodiesel refinery at the Houston ship channel has the capacity to produce 105 million gallons per year of fuel. The refinery resumed production on November 25 after being shut down due to damage from Hurricane Ike. Before the shutdown the plant had reached 65% of capacity production level.
It will be a postitive for the company to start generating significant revenues from biodiesel sales. GRH is still a start-up operation in several areas of renewable energy including wind energy and power from bio-waste.
