Eurozone Unadj. Trade Deficit Widens in August
(RTTNews) - Friday, the Eurostat said in a report that the Eurozone trade deficit widened to EUR9.3 billion in August from EUR2 billion deficit recorded in July, which was revised from an initial estimate of EUR2.3 billion deficit. Economists had expected a shortfall of EUR5.5 billion.
After adjusting for seasonal swings, trade deficit amounted to EUR6.1 billion in August, down from EUR6.7 billion deficit seen in July. The July deficit was revised from EUR6.4 billion reported initially. Meanwhile, the consensus forecast for August was the deficit to shrink to EUR5.4 billion.
