UK Nationwide Consumer Confidence Index Falls To 50

(RTTNews) - An index measuring consumer confidence in Great Britain fell to its lowest level in four years in September, the Nationwide Building Society’s consumer confidence survey showed on Wednesday, posting a score of 50.

That was down from the revised score of 53 in August, but it topped analyst expectations that predicted a score of 49 for September.

The spending index was steady at 52, while the expectations indicator was unchanged at 58. On a three-month average, the consumer confidence index fell from 57 to 52.
