Italian August PPI Inflation Slows Less Than Expected

(RTTNews) - Tuesday, the Italian Statistical Office, ISTAT said the Producer Price Index or PPI for industrial products rose 8.2% year-on-year in August, a tad slower than the 8.7% rise recorded in July. The rate stood well above the 7.7% expected by the economists’.

Month-on-month, producer prices for industrial products decreased 0.2% in August, in contrast to a 0.8% gain logged in July. The consensus forecast was for a monthly decline of 0.5%.
