Dutch Factory Gate Price Growth Eases In August

(RTTNews) - Factory gate prices in the Netherlands increased by nearly 11% year-on-year in August compared with a rise of over 12% in July, the Central Bureau of Statistics reported Tuesday. The report said that the August rise represented the fourth consecutive month that prices were above 10%.

Among the commodity groups, selling prices of petroleum processing and refining industries rose at a slower pace of 38% year-on-year in August compared with a 48% rise in June and July. Prices of a barrel of North Sea Brent oil increased 62% to 115 dollars on an average.

Prices of chemicals rose sharply by 16% in August. Similarly, prices in the food industry rose 6%, and it increased by nearly 8% in the basic metals industry.

On a monthly basis, overall factory gate prices were down 1.4% in August.
