Romania CPI inflation rises in August

(RTTNews) - Wednesday, the Institute of National Statistics announced that Romania’s Consumer Price Index, or CPI annual inflation stood at 8.02% year-over-year in August. Inflation slowed from 9.04% recorded in July. Economists’ consensus was for an inflation rate of 8.1%.

Non-food prices increased 7.75% in August, while food prices rose 8.79%.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell 0.09% in August, after rising 0.69% in July. Food prices grew 0.2%.
