India’s Infrastructure Growth In July Declines To 4.3%

(RTTNews) - Growth in six key infrastructure industries declined to 4.3 per cent in July from 7.2 per cent a year ago, but the numbers were better compared with a 3.4% growth last month.

Crude oil production posted a negative growth of 3% in July compared to a positive trend during the corresponding period last year. Growth in finished steel stood at 1.9% in July compared to 10.8% in the previous year, even as petroleum refinery products posted a growth of 11.8%. Between April-July this fiscal year, the core infrastructure industries grew by 3.7% compared to a 6.6% growth during the corresponding period last fiscal year. The core grouping of infrastructure industries carry a weight-age of 26.68 per cent on the Index of Industrial Production (IIP), the data of which is expected on Friday.
