Hong Kong’s Credit Card Lending Continues To Fall In Q3

(RTTNews) - Thursday, results of a survey by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority showed that the credit card lending slipped 0.2% sequentially in the third quarter, after a 0.3% fall in the second quarter. Total card receivables amounted to HK$70.5 billion in the third quarter, down from HK$ 70.7 billion in the previous quarter.

Year-on-year, credit card lending dropped 4.6% in the third quarter, faster than a 3.7% fall in the second quarter.

During the third quarter, the delinquent amount declined to HK$323 million from HK$357 million in the previous quarter. The delinquency ratio dropped to 0.46% from 0.50% in the second quarter, the HKMA said.
