Slovakia Industrial Output Drops At Slower Pace In September
(RTTNews) - Monday, the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic said in a report that industrial production dropped a working day adjusted 5.2% year-on-year in September, compared to the 6.3% fall in August, revised from 5.7% fall reported initially. This was the slowest rate of annual decline in 2009.
Manufacturing production dropped 4% on an annual basis in September, while mining and quarrying production climbed 9.5%. Production of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply slipped 4.8%.
On a monthly basis, industrial production grew by a seasonally adjusted 4.6% in September.
For the January to September period, industrial production decreased 18.4% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Separately, the statistical office said the construction output plunged 16.9% year-on-year in September, after falling 0.2% in August. Construction output was down a seasonally adjusted 6.2% compared to the previous month.
