Romania Sept. Trade Deficit Widens

(RTTNews) - Monday, Romania’s National Statistical Institute announced that the trade deficit stood at EUR 1.1 billion in September, widening from EUR 0.7 billion deficit in the previous month. A year ago, the trade deficit was EUR 2.5 billion.

Exports decreased 13.1% year-on-year to EUR 2.59 billion in September, while imports fell 34% to EUR 3.64 billion.

On a monthly basis, exports and imports increased by 18.8% and 24.5% respectively in September.

For the January to September period, exports dropped 18.3% and imports fell 36% compared to the same period of the previous year. During the period, the trade deficit was EUR 6.93 billion.
