Turkey September Industrial Output Declines Further

(RTTNews) - Monday, a report by the Turkish statistical office TurkStat announced that industrial production dropped 8.6% year-on-year in September, faster than the 6.3% fall in the preceding month. Economists had expected a more moderate 7.5% fall.

In September, manufacturing output decreased 9.3% annually, while mining sector output dropped 6.4%. Electricity, water & gas output fell 4.1%. Among the main industrial groups, capital goods output registered the biggest decline, down 18.2% in September.

On a monthly basis, industrial production fell 0.2% in September.
