Czech Unemployment Rate Falls In October

(RTTNews) - The unemployment rate in the Czech Republic decreased slightly to 8.5% in October from 8.6% in September, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs reported on Monday. Economists had expected the unemployment rate to remain unchanged at 8.6%. The unemployment rate for men was 7.4%, while the unemployment rate for women was 9.9%.

The number of job seekers registered by job offices in October decreased 2,052 to 498,760. Job offices registered a total of 59,563 new comers, down 21,262 from the preceding month. At the same time, job offices terminated the registration of 61,615 job seekers.

In October, a total of 35,803 vacancies were registered, down 3,041 vacancies from September.
