Czech Consumer Prices Decline For First Time Since August 2003

(RTTNews) - Monday, the Czech Statistical Office announced that the consumer price index or CPI dropped 0.2% year-on-year in October, after a flat reading in the previous month. The consumer price index declined for the first time since August 2003. Economists expected a decline of 0.1%.

On a monthly basis, the CPI decreased 0.2% in October, compared with a 0.4% fall in the previous month. Economists were looking for a decrease of 0.1%.

Meanwhile, the harmonized index of consumer prices or HICP dropped 0.6% on an annual basis, after falling 0.3% in September. The HICP fell 0.3% compared to the preceding month.
