Bank Of France Industrial Confidence Continues To Rise In October

(RTTNews) - French industrial confidence continued to rise for an eighth month in October, survey data released by the Bank of France showed Monday.

The sentiment indicator rose to 95 in October. Economists had forecast the index to remain unchanged at September’s revised reading of 93. Confidence rose mainly due to increase in production in the automotive and consumer goods sectors.

The business sentiment indicator in services stood at 84 in October 2009, as in September. Services activity increased moderately, mainly on the back of the further recovery in temporary employment and an improvement in the road transport and consultancy sectors.

According to the monthly index of business activity France’s GDP is expected to grow by 0.5% in the fourth quarter of 2009, the central bank said.
