Bank Of Japan Minutes On Tap For Thursday

(RTTNews) - The Bank of Japan is on Thursday scheduled to release the minutes from its monetary policy meeting on October 13 and 14, headlining a modest day for Asian economic activity. At the meeting, the BoJ continued to maintain record low interest rates at 0.10 percent.

The Philippines will announce October numbers for inflation and also announce its decision on interest rates. Inflation is forecast to climb 1.6 percent on year and 0.4 percent on month after adding 0.7 percent on year and 0.2 percent on month in September. Also, the central bank is widely tipped to keep interest rates on hold at the current 4 percent.

Taiwan will provide October data for inflation, wholesale inflation and foreign reserves. Inflation is forecast to fall 1.05 percent on year after easing an annual 0.86 percent in September. WPI is predicted to contract 5.3 percent on year after the 9.59 percent annual fall in the previous month. Foreign reserves are expected to come in at $3.1 billion after showing $2.55 billion a month earlier.
