Australia September Private Sector Credit Declines

(RTTNews) - The value of credit extended to the private sector in Australia declined in September by a seasonally adjusted 0.2 percent compared to August.

Private sector credit was 1.7 percent higher than one year earlier, according to data released Friday by the Reserve Bank of Australia.

Credit to the housing sector increased 0.7 percent on month in September and was up 7.7 percent on year.

The RBA said personal sector credit was down 0.2 percent on month and down 5.6 percent on year.

Business sector credit was down 1.3 percent on month and down 4.6 percent on year.
