Northrop Grumman Gets $430 Mln.U.S. Army Contract - Update
(RTTNews) - Defense contractor Northrop Grumman Corp. (NOC) Monday said it received an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract valued at $430 million from the U.S. Army, extending over a period of five years, upon exercising all options.
The contract awarded by Army’s Intelligence and Security Command, requires Northrop Grumman to continue providing full-spectrum information operations and computer networks operations to the first Information Operations Command, Fort Belvoir and its regional Computer Emergency Response Teams.
Northrop Grumman has been providing Information Operations and computer networks operations support to the Army’s 1st Information Operations Command since 1997.
Information Operations is basically a warfare tactic meant to disrupt the decision making capability of enemies, while protecting information necessary for U.S. warfighters to make critical decisions. IO coordinates multiple battlefield functions including electronic warfare, military deception, psychological warfare, operations security and computer networks operations.
Northrop Grumman’s partners include JB Management, Alexandria, Quantum Research International Inc., Huntsville, Lockheed Martin, Bethesda, SAIC, San Diego and Booz Allen Hamilton and QinetiQ North America, both of McLean, Virginia.
NOC is currently trading at $49.51, down $0.45 or 0.90%, on a volume of 1.68 million shares.
