Spanish Overnight Stays Fall In July
(RTTNews) - Monday, a report by Spain’s National Institute of Statistics said the number of overnight stays at hotel establishments by resident and non-resident tourists fell 5.5% year-on-year in July. A total of 32.9 million overnight stays were recorded during the month. Overnight stays by residents fell 0.1%, while those for foreigners declined 9%.
Overnight stays made by tourists from Germany and the UK totaled 10.2 million, accounting for nearly 53% of total for non-residents. Within these markets, stays made by Germans fell 9.5% year-on-year, while those made from UK tourists slipped 11.5%.
In the first seven months of the year, overnight stays decreased 8.5% compared with the same period last year.
