Australia July New Vehicle Sales Fall 6.9% On Month

(RTTNews) - New vehicle sales in Australia fell a seasonally adjusted 6.9 percent in July compared to the previous month, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Monday, coming in at 75,006. That follows a 5.2 percent monthly increase in June.

On an annual basis, the sale of new vehicles fell 10.4 percent after a 7.2 percent annual decline in the previous month.

Other vehicles decreased 25.7 percent on month, while sports utility vehicles decreased 3.8 percent and passenger vehicles increased 0.3 percent.

Tasmania recorded the largest decrease at 15.8 percent, followed by the Australian Capital Territory, down 11.7 percent. The Northern Territory rose 7.4 percent.
