Macau Consumer Price Inflation Eases Further In July

(RTTNews) - Consumer prices in Macau climbed 0.19% year-on-year in July, slower than a 1.1% rise in the preceding month, the Statistics and Census Service said Friday.

During the month, price of clothing and footwear climbed 6.67%, while that of miscellaneous goods and services increased 5.17%. Price of food and non-alcoholic beverages were up 3.22%. At the same time, transport prices declined 10.7%, due to a decline in gasoline prices.

Compared to the previous month, the composite consumer prices fell 0.07% in July, reversing a 0.39% rise in June.

For the first seven months of the year, consumer prices increased 2.2% year-on-year, and in the twelve months ending July, consumer prices were up 4.56% from the same period last year.
