Hungary’s Jobless Rate Falls In April-June

(RTTNews) - Hungary’s jobless rate decreased during the period from April to June compared to the rate logged in the period from March to May, data released by the Central Statistics Office showed Wednesday.

The unemployment rate stood at 9.6% in April-June, down from 9.8% in March to May, but it was an increase from 7.6% recorded in the same period a year earlier.

The Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development or OECD forecast Hungary’s jobless rate to hit 10.7% in 2009 and then to rise to 11.7% in 2010 as the lingering global economic crisis is expected to leave more people out of their jobs.
