Romania June Consumer Price Inflation Slows

(RTTNews) - Friday, Romania’s National Institute of Statistics said consumer prices rose 5.86% year-on-year in June, slowing from a 5.95% increase in the preceding month. Economists expected a rise of 5.9%.

Annually, food prices climbed 3.5%, while non-food goods prices rose 6.74%. Service prices were up 8.73%.

Month-on-month, consumer prices increased 0.2% in June, in line with economists’ expectations, after remaining almost flat in the previous month.

For the first half of the year, consumer prices climbed 0.5%, slower than a 0.6% rise in the corresponding period last year.
