Iceland’s Jobless Rate Falls In June

(RTTNews) - Friday, Iceland’s Directorate of Labor reported that the country’s jobless rate eased to 8.1% in June from 8.7% in May.

The number of unemployed stood at 14,091 in June, down 504 persons from May. The number of open vacancies were 1,101 in June, up 158 from May.

Looking ahead, the agency forecast no major change in July and the jobless rate for the month is expected to be between 8%-8.5%.
