Italian May Industrial Output Flat On Month

(RTTNews) - Industrial production in Italy remained flat month-on-month in May, on a seasonally adjusted basis, after rising 1.1% in the preceding month, the statistical office ISTAT said Friday. Economists expected a drop of 1.1%.

Year-on-year, industrial output dropped a working day adjusted 19.8% in May, slower than a 24.2% fall in the previous month. Economists expected a decline of 25%. Unadjusted, output was down 22.6%.

In the first five months of the year, industrial output fell a working day adjusted 21.4% and slipped an unadjusted 22.6% compared to the same period last year.
