German Residential Building Prices Rise 1% In May

(RTTNews) - Friday, Germany’s Federal Statistical Office said the construction price index for conventionally constructed new residential buildings rose 1% year-on-year in May. The statistical office calculates residential building prices four times in an year.

In February, the price index increased 2% on a year earlier. Compared with February, the price index for residential buildings went down 0.2% in May.

Concerning non-residential buildings, the price index was up 1.2% for office buildings and up 1.6% for industrial buildings, the statistical office said. For road construction, the price index rose 3.1% compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year.
