Estonia Trade Deficit Narrows In May

(RTTNews) - Friday, the Statistics Estonia said in a report that the trade deficit stood at EEK 0.6 billion in May, narrowing from a deficit of EEK 2.9 billion in the same month last year. The statistical office said the trade deficit was five times lower than that in May last year, and was also the smallest since September 1995.

During the month, total exports dropped 30% annually to EEK 8 billion, while total imports fell 40% to EEK 8.6 billion. On a monthly basis, exports rose 5% in May, while imports dropped 8%.
