Danish Trade Surplus Expands In May

(RTTNews) - Denmark’s trade surplus widened to DKK 3.3 billion in May from DKK 2.2 billion in April, the Statistics Denmark said Thursday. It was in line with economists’ expectations.

Imports rose 1.2% month-on-month, but exports fell 1.6%.

Excluding ships, the trade surplus narrowed to DKK 3.3 billion from DKK 4.3 billion.

Separately, the statistical office said the country’s current account surplus rose to DKK 6 billion in May from DKK 4.4 billion surplus in April. It rose more than the expected surplus of DKK 4.3 billion.
