IMF Signs $4.5 Bln Borrowing Agreement With Norway

(RTTNews) - Norway’s central bank on Monday signed in an agreement with the International Monetary Fund to provide NOK 30 billion or about $4.5 billion.

This agreement is part of the international effort to triple the IMF’s resources in order to provide timely and effective balance of payment assistance to its members in the current crisis.

In February 2009, the IMF and Japan signed in a similar agreement, under which Japan is committed to lend up to $100 billion to the IMF.
