(RTTNews) - Hungary’s economic sentiment index, after seasonal adjustments, improved for the second consecutive month in June, after decreasing since October last and stagnating in April, a report from GKI said Wednesday.

The sentiment index rose to minus 38.2 in June from minus 40.3 in the preceding month. The consumer confidence index increased to minus 64.3 from minus 68.3, while the business confidence index rose to minus 29 from minus 30.4.

In June the confidence index increased for the third consecutive month in both industry and trade sectors, the GKI said.

Meanwhile, manufacturing sector activity in Hungary continued to contract in June, reports said Wednesday citing the results of a survey from the Hungarian Association of Logistics, Purchasing and Inventory Management, or MLBKT. The purchasing managers’ index increased to 45.8 in June from 45.4 in May.
