Denmark Retail Sales Decrease In May

(RTTNews) - Wednesday, the Statistics Denmark announced that the retail sales volume declined a seasonally adjusted 0.2% in May, after falling 0.4% in April, revised from 0.6% fall estimated initially. Economists were looking for an increase of 0.5%.

Retail sales for food and groceries declined 0.4% in May, following a 0.5% growth in the previous month, while retail sales for clothing decreased to 0.8% from 0.9% in April.

Year-on-year, retail sales dropped 7.1% in May, compared with a 6.6% fall in April, revised from 6.8% decline reported initially.
