Australian Skilled Job Vacancies Decline Again In June

(RTTNews) - The number of job vacancies for skilled workers in Australia dropped again in June, by 3.7% compared to May, the country’s Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations or DEEWR said Wednesday. In May, job vacancies fell 7% month-on-month.

The skilled vacancies index stood at 35.5 in June, and was lower by 61.5% from the previous year.

Among the professions, the steepest monthly fall in skilled vacancy was for medical and science technical officers, by 13.6%. Most states and regions also saw a decrease in skilled vacancies, with the largest decline of 7.9% seen in New South Wales.
