Malaysia April Consumer Price Inflation Slows

(RTTNews) - Wednesday, the Department of Statistics Malaysia said in a report that the consumer price index or CPI rose 3% year-over-year in April, slower than the 3.5% increase in the previous month. Economists were looking an increase of 3.2%.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices declined 0.2% in April, marking the same pace as in the preceding month.

For the January to April period, consumer prices increased 3.5% compared to the same period of the previous year.
