Italian Industrial Orders, Turnover Drop In March

(RTTNews) - Italian industrial orders fell 2.7% month-on-month in March, taking the annual decline to 26%, statistical office Istat said Wednesday. Meanwhile, economists had expected a monthly fall of 2.5% and an annual 30.3% contraction.

Domestic orders were down 22% year-on-year, while external orders plunged 33%.

At the same time, industrial turnover fell 0.8% from February, half of the expected 1.6% fall. Compared with the same month of the previous year, unadjusted sales dropped 17.5%. Upon calendar adjustment, turnover dropped 22.6% year-on-year.
