(RTTNews) - Wednesday, a report by the Netherlands’ Central Bureau of Statistics said the jobless rate increased to 4.6% in the February to April period from 4.4% in the previous three-month period. Economists were expecting the rate to come in at 4.4%.

During the period, there were 360,000 unemployed persons, up from 341,000 in the three-month ended March. The jobless rate for women increased to 5.2% from 4.9%, while it rose to 4.2% from 3.4% for men from the preceding three-month period.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, the number of unemployed persons totaled 338,000 in the three-month ended April, representing an increasing of 18,000 from the previous three-month period.
