Portugal Q1 Jobless Rate Rises

(RTTNews) - Friday, the Statistics Portugal announced that the jobless rate stood at 8.9% in the first quarter, up from 7.8% in the fourth quarter. A year ago, the jobless rate was 7.6%.

The number of people unemployed rose 13.3% sequantially in the first quarter and it increased 16.1% annually to 496,000.
