Poland’s Current Account Surplus Sharply Narrows In March

(RTTNews) - Poland’s current account surplus narrowed to EUR 75 million in March from EUR 915 million in February, the National Bank of Poland said Friday.

Balance of goods trade turned to a deficit of EUR 77 million from the previous month’s surplus of EUR 29 million, while the surplus in services trade was EUR 125 million, down from EUR 241 million. The deficit in income balance widened to EUR 431 million from EUR 308 million. The surplus on current transfers amounted to EUR 458 million, down from EUR 953 million.

Further, official data showed that capital account surplus sharply narrowed to EUR 54 million from EUR 1.7 billion. Meanwhile, the financial account balance swung to a deficit of EUR 597 million from EUR 1.7 billion surplus.
