Malaysia Inflation Due On Wednesday

(RTTNews) - Malaysia is on Wednesday scheduled to release March numbers for its consumer price index and foreign reserves numbers through April 15, headlining a light day for Asian economic news.

Inflation is forecast to increase by 3.6 percent on year, slowing slightly from the 3.7 percent annual expansion in February. Foreign reserves are predicted at $88.59 billion, up from $87.82 billion in the previous week.

Taiwan will release March figures for commercial sales and unemployment. Commercial sales are expected to contract 10.11 percent on year after the 8.23 percent annual fall in February. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate is forecast at 5.8 percent, up from 5.63 percent a month earlier.

Japan will provide merchandise trade balance data for March. Analysts are expecting a deficit of 27 billion yen and an adjusted deficit of 250.7 billion yen. Imports are projected to fall 37.3 percent and exports are called lower by 46.6 percent.
