New Zealand Service Sector Activity Improves In March

(RTTNews) - New Zealand’s service sector activity showed an improvement in March, for the second consecutive month, the latest report from the Business New Zealand revealed.

The Performance of Service Index moved up to 47.1 in March from 46.3 in February, reflecting a rise in activity levels and new orders.

During the month, the index of activity increased to 47.8 from 42.9, while the new orders index improved to 51.4 from 49.8. Supplier deliveries also showed a rise, with the index moving up to 51.2 from 47.4 in February.

At the same time, the inventories index decreased to 45.4 in March from 48.3 reported in the preceding month. The employment index edged down slightly to 44.8 from 44.9 in February.
