Malaysia’s International Reserves Rise
(RTTNews) - Friday, a report by the Bank Negara Malaysia, the country’s central bank, said the international reserves totaled US$ 91.6 billion as at February 13. As at January 30, the international reserves totaled US$ 91.3 billion.
The central bank said the current reserve position is sufficient to finance 7.6 months of retained imports and four times the short-term external debt.
Foreign currency reserves totaled US$ 86 billion as at February 13, while the reserve position with the IMF stood at US$ 0.3 billion. Gold reserves amounted to US$ 0.4 billion, while special drawing rights totaled US$ 0.2 billion. Other reserve assets amounted to US$ 4.7 billion.
