Stocks Move Moderately Higher In Early Trading - U.S. Commentary

(RTTNews) - Stocks moved moderately higher at the start of trading on Thursday, with the major averages all climbing into positive territory after ending the previous session mixed. The upward move came as some traders looked to pick up stocks at reduced levels.

Benefiting from a notable increase by the price of oil, oil service stocks are turning in some of the best performances in early trading. Significant strength has also emerged among steel, health insurance, retail, and banking stocks, while gold stocks are bucking the uptrend.

The major averages have seen some further upside in the past few minutes, rising to new highs for the young session. The Dow is currently up 39.19 at 7,594.82, the Nasdaq is up 12.63 at 1,480.60 and the S&P 500 is up 7.81 at 796.23.
