Japan Q4 All Industry Index Down 3.6 Points

(RTTNews) - Japan’s index of all overall industrial activity declined in the final three months of 2008.

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry reported Friday that the All-Industry Index for Q4 of 2008 was 102.5, compared to the Q3 reading of 106.1.

The Construction Industry index for Q4 rose to 71.4 from 69.4 in Q3, Industrial Production fell to 96.3 from 108.4, Tertiary Industry Activity declined to 107.5 from 109.4 and the index of Government Services Index was up to 107.3 from the Q3 reading of 106.5

The Real GDP Index for Q4 declined to 107.2, from the Q3 reading of 111.0.

For the full 2008 calendar year, the All Industry Activity index declined to 105.7, compared the 2007 reading of 107.4.
