New Zealand Q4 PPI Output +1.4%, Input -2.2%
(RTTNews) - The output of producer prices in New Zealand were up 1.4 percent in the fourth quarter of 2008 compared to the previous quarter, Statistics New Zealand said on Monday. That came in sharply higher than analyst expectations for a 0.2 percent quarterly gain after the 2.8 percent jump in the previous three months.
The input of producer prices fell 2.2 percent on quarter, the data showed - sharply lower than forecasts that called for a 0.2 percent increase after the 3.7 percent jump in the previous quarter.
Also, the performance of services index posted a score of 42.7 for January after coming in at 48.0 in December.
