Portugal Consumer Price Inflation Eases In January
(RTTNews) - Friday, the Statistics Portugal said in a report that the consumer price index or CPI increased 0.2% year-over-year in January, slower than the 0.8% rise seen in the previous month. A year ago, the CPI was up 2.9%.
On a monthly basis, the CPI dropped 0.7% in January, after falling 0.5% in December.
In January, the harmonized index of consumer prices rose 0.1% on an annual basis, while it dipped 0.9% compared to the preceding month.
The core inflation, which excludes energy components and fresh unprocessed food products, grew 1.8% year-on-year in January, slower than the 2% recorded in the previous month.
