Romania Current Account Deficit Widens In 2008

(RTTNews) - Thursday, the National Bank of Romania said in a report that the current account deficit stood at EUR 16.88 billion in 2008, up 1.2% from the previous year. In 2007, the current account deficit was EUR 16.68 billion.

At the same time, income account deficit amounted to EUR 5.53 billion, up from EUR 6.56 billion in the previous year.

In 2008, the trade deficit stood at EUR 18.19 billion, 2.1% higher than in 2007.
