Indonesia GDP On Tap For Friday
(RTTNews) - Indonesia is scheduled to release gross domestic product figures for the fourth quarter of 2008 on Friday, headlining a light day for Asian economic news.
GDP is expected to increase 5.5 percent on year following the 6.11 percent expansion in the fourth quarter of 2007. Compared to the previous quarter, the Indonesian economy is expected to contract 2.53 percent.
Singapore will announce retail sales data for December. Seasonally adjusted, retail sales are expected to contract 5.7 percent compared to the previous month after a 5.2 percent decline in the previous month. Non-seasonally adjusted, retail sales are expected to ease 5.6 percent on year after the 3.4 percent annual fall a month earlier.
Thailand will announce foreign reserve numbers through February 6, with analysts calling for an increase of 111.2 percent on year after the 110.7 percent annual gain in the previous reporting period.
